Hognose snakes are a small rear-fanged colubrid found in North America with a separately recognized group from Madagascar. Of the three North American groups the Western is the most common of the hognose snakes for sale today. These beautiful and reactive small snakes are known to flare their necks similar to a cobra and to play dead when the scare tactics don’t work. Western hognose snakes are the most common morph in the pet trade but we will occasionally carry captive born southern hognose as well as the two species of Madagascan hognose snake. These beautiful animals tend to stay small and are kept regularly in the pet trade.
